As a lighter version of the monumental installation Les plantamouves originally created for the Centre Pompidou in Paris, this exhibition-workshop combines the tactile whimsy of mobile sculpture with interactive dance, inviting audiences of all ages to engage with more than 240 vibrantly colorful foam pieces through inventive video tutorials.

The anarchic visionary Georges Franju began his life in cinema working with Henri Langlois, co-directing the 1934 short Le Métro, and co-founding the Cinémathèque Française. It would be over a decade before Franju made a second film: the explosive, still-shocking, landmark documentary, The Blood of the Beasts (Le sang des bêtes, 1948). For the next decade, Franju worked exclusively in documentary before directing his first feature in 1958. Though contemporaneous with the Nouvelle Vague’s debut films, his style, focus, and even his generation set him apart—operating in a realm unto himself and crafting works that capture dark beauty and the fantastical.

Franju’s wild final feature, and second foray into Feuillade territory, is a pulpy fantasy/crime thriller featuring a search for treasure hidden by the Templars, a red-masked villain known as The Man Without a Face (plus his army of zombielike killers), and Gayle Hunnicutt equipped with a catsuit and deadly darts.

L’Alliance joins venues throughout New York City in celebration of the life of the city’s beloved native son and daughter, artists and filmmakers Ken and Flo Jacobs, who both passed away in 2025. Over sixty years of marriage and collaboration, Ken and Flo created a legacy of work, exhibition and film study that has deeply influenced generations of audiences and students of cinema.

Together they will discuss Usdin’s acclaimed work, including her new graphic novel, Detroit Roma, as well as the role galleries play in championing artists and bringing illustration into the broader contemporary art world. The program takes place at the nearby Society of Illustrators, and guests are invited to explore the museum’s exhibitions and enjoy the bar before and after the talk.

A radiant romantic comedy that sees an eccentric young woman (Lolita Chammah) who dreads being alone, left all by herself in the remote countryside. She latches onto a scruffy recluse (Benjamin Biolay), living in a tiny shed with his adorable dog, disrupting both his peaceful routines and her notions of solitude.

Fred (Jonathan Cohen), husband and manager to happily child-free classical pianist Claire Girard (Marina Foïs), catches the baby bug and devises a plot to impregnate his wife. It, of course, doesn’t go smoothly, but playful gender reversals and absurdist comedy serve to soften some of the tricky morality concerns raised by the film.

Created for family audiences, EUPHORIA is a playful duet told through movement, color and sound. Two half-human, half-owl creatures undergo a strange, poetic metamorphosis, discovering a new sense of wonder and joy.
