L’Alliance New York’s Preschool is a French immersion program for toddlers ages 2½ to 5 designed to foster learning as a multicultural exploration of curiosity. Part of L’Alliance New York, the Preschool was founded in 2012 at our Manhattan location to offer engaging French immersion instruction to the youngest French learners.
The Preschool’s mission is to provide a joyful, energetic entry into school life while also introducing kids to the French language, combining the best of French and American teaching methods in an environment that’s rich in diversity. We aim to help your child become independent, inquisitive, and open to new experiences through age-appropriate activities and group play that connects learning with excitement and community.
Specially crafted for toddlers with or without previous exposure to French, L’Alliance New York’s Preschool provides your child with all the proven benefits of bilingualism – like cognitive flexibility – while preparing them with the educational, social, and emotional tools required for success in any kindergarten.
During the first year, children with limited or no previous exposure to French begin to absorb and understand the language through daily routines, the use of visuals, and gestures. Their comprehension is boosted by consistent repetition and rephrasing in French. Quickly, children master broader vocabulary, start responding in French, and begin to form simple sentences. Whether your child continues on to an American or French or French-immersion elementary school, these years in preschool are a pivotal foundation for mastery of the language and lifelong love of French.

- Two classrooms of 15 students max
- One class for toddlers 2½ years old, one class for toddlers 3 ½ to 5 years old.
- Half-day or full-day option.
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–11:30 am or Monday-Friday, 8:30 am–4:30 pm.
- Extended day option available until 6 pm.
- One head teacher and one assistant in each classroom.
