Spring Forth With L’Alliance New York’s April–June Culture & Language Voyages

If the dismal cold and grey winter days are getting you down, allow us to offer you a petit apéritif of something sunny and beautiful to look forward to: our April, May, and June Culture & Language Voyages are open for registration! 

Helmed by L’Alliance New York’s intrepid Pedagogical Director Guillaume Lefèvre (who we interviewed about his crowd-pleasing trips), these fully-planned immersion experiences are an incredible way to discover the beauty and diversity of French and francophone locales while strengthening your language skills and traveling alongside fellow Francophiles. Better yet, they’re open to all levels of adult French speakers.

This upcoming season’s trips will take you to the balmy, picturesque locales of Marrakech, Morocco, Aix-en-Provence, France, and Normandy and Paris, France. Here’s what you can expect from each.

 

Voyage to Marrakech, Morocco

If you’re intrigued by the idea of visiting a francophone North African city and you’re free Friday, April 25 to Sunday, May 4, say bonjour to Marrakech! Just a few of the exciting activities planned for this nine day, eight night tour include: 

• Daily language classes at the Institut Français de Marrakech. 
• Visits to the historical fortified Medina quarter and its iconic souks (colorful stall-lined marketplaces) and tannery neighborhoods (the region is known for its leather work), as well as the famed Majorelle Garden (a botanical oasis designed by French artist Jacques Majorelle). 
• Excursions to the Ourika Valley (surrounded by the stunning High Atlas Mountains and home to seven waterfalls), the coastal city of Essaouira (known for its quirky shops, incredibly fresh seafood, and as the backdrop of portions of Game of Thrones), and a camel ride through the desert.

Voyage to Aix-en-Provence, France

Hoping to spend your Memorial Day break wandering lavender-scented landscapes? Then clear your calendar for a trip to Provence from Friday, May 23 to Sunday, June 1. Some of the diverting activities scheduled for this nine day, eight night journey include:

• Daily language classes at the Alliance Française of Aix-en-Provence. 
• Guided tours of Aix-en-Provence, nearby Avignon (including the medieval Gothic Palais des Papes), and Arles (with an emphasis on its Roman and Romanesque monuments). 
• Visits to Musée Granet (home to a stunning collection of Cézannes), the Luberon’s Château La Coste (a 600-acre sculpture park and wine estate surrounded by stunning views), and a behind-the-scenes peek at iconic French beauty brand L’Occitane’s factory.

Voyage to Normandy and Paris, France

Gift yourself a fan-favorite adventure to the northern French cultural hubs of Normandy and Paris from Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 15. Several of the crowd-pleasing activities in store for this nine day, eight night trip include: 

• Daily language classes at the Alliance Française of Rouen. 
• Guided tours of Paris, Rouen (Normandy’s medieval Gothic, cobblestone-covered capital), and the port city of Honfleur (frequented by Impressionist artists Claude Monet, Eugène Boudin, and Johan Jongkind).
• A visit to Monet’s gardens at Giverny and an excursion to the stunning tidal island of Mont-Saint-Michel (home to an awe-inspiring 11th century Romanesque Abbey).
