Dir. Sophie Letourneur, 2012, 75min
Starring Camille Genaud, Carole Le Page, Sophie Letourneur
Three friends—invited filmmaker Sophie Letourneur, Carole Le Page, and Camille Genaud, all playing caricatured versions of themselves—go on the prowl at the Locarno Film Festival. We follow their escapades, and then see them reminisce about the trip, involving lame parties, exes, new love interests, and, most humiliating, the director’s full-blown obsession with the actor Louis Garrel (who appears for a quick cameo), which she can’t help but mention to anyone she meets. Raw, snappy, and gently self-effacing, the film reveals how displacing the festival experience can be, often providing a space for adults to revert to childish, irresponsible behavior.
“It is a new portrait of young women that Sophie Letourneur delivers here, and in this exercise, she excels.” – Le Monde
