All About L’Alliance New York’s Summer Programs

    February 5, 2025

Looking for a joyful and enriching way for your toddlers, kids, and teens to spend their summer break? Search no further than L’Alliance New York’s Summer Camps and Classes! These French immersion programs at our Manhattan, NY and Montclair, NJ locations are open to all levels of French speakers from ages 1-18, and attendance is flexible—children aged 3-11 can sign up for either all eight weeks or one-week increments of our drop-off Summer Day Camps, Teens can join week long immersion classes ages 11-18 and we also offer 45 to 90 min classes for toddlers aged 1-5

“Learning a second language at a young age has incredible benefits. It helps children develop stronger thinking and problem-solving skills while also opening their minds to new cultures and perspectives,” explains Marie-Catherine Glaser, Executive Director of the Montclair Campus & Preschool of L’Alliance New York. “It’s a gift that can support them for a lifetime!”

Each year’s Summer Day Camp falls under a theme (previous subjects have included the Tour de France, The Nine Arts, and the Summer Games in Paris), and 2025’s is Nature Detectives. Through hands-on projects, field trips, and engaging activities, children will learn about everything from water cycles to composting to the food chain to recycling. So not only will they strengthen their language skills (there are myriad benefits of starting bilingual education when they’re young), they’ll also become more aware and passionate global citizens.

Summer Day Camps run from June 23 to August 15, 2025—read on for some highlights of this season’s exciting offerings.

    Day Camps for Toddlers

Activities will include meeting and learning from park rangers, bread baking, flower pot painting, various cooking sessions with seasonal fruits and other local ingredients, kite and mobile-crafting, creating reusable bags from old clothes, candle-making, drawing projects, and much more.
