Visual Arts & Dance Workshops
Schedule
A lively mix of performances, hands-on art, and pop-up experiences will bring 250 years of French American creativity to life, celebrating the rule-breakers, risk-takers, and the avant-garde spirit that connect both cultures. Bold and interactive moments will invite everyone to experiment, create, and come together in a shared spirit of creativity and fraternité.
Performances and workshops will take place on the pop-up lawn at Madison Avenue between 59th and 60th Streets.
Monumental Jeu de l’Oie (Goose Game)
On Madison Avenue, New Yorkers will be able to play a game of chance in a Monumental Jeu de l’oie (Goose Game), a classic French board game reimagined on a giant scale by artists Gwendoline Finaz de Villaine and Pauline Lévêque. The art installation features illustrations of the artistic connections between Paris and New York.
Dance Workshop
Drawing on the artistic legacy of Isadora Duncan, founder and educator Catherine Gallant of Dances by Isadora will lead a community dance event that celebrates dance as a universal art form accessible to all.
Mask Making Workshop
Families can also enjoy visual arts workshops inspired by this year’s Carnaval des Animaux parade and costume contest, presented in partnership with The Art Studio NY.
Mini Stage
Join us in the picnic area of the French Garden for live performances on our Mini-Stage.
