“Between enchanted nature, rediscovered memory, and delicate visual craftsmanship (…) a sensitive tale where emotion arises as much from silence as from revelation.” – France Culture
When 9-year-old Lucie arrives in Bectoile for the holidays, she has no idea what adventures await her! While her mother, who grew up in the village, works on archaeological excavations, Lucie is determined to dive into her family’s history, guided by a pair of birds and with the help of her new friend Yann. Created with paper cutouts and over 2,000 puppets, The Songbirds’ Secret is a little miracle of a film; a showcase of craftsmanship and talent in the service of poetic animation and storytelling.
