Dir. Amélie Bonnin, 2025, 98min, DCP
Starring Juliette Armanet, Bastien Bouillon, Dominique Blanc, François Rollin
Opening the Cannes Film Festival last year, Leave One Day is a charming, heartwarming musical which follows Cécile (Juliette Armanet), who is on the verge of opening her own gourmet restaurant and finally fulfilling her dream. She is suddenly called back to her native village after her father suffers a heart attack. Far from the bustle of Parisian life, she unexpectedly runs into her teenage crush, and old memories come flooding back, shaking her sense of certainty and forcing her to reconsider the life she thought she had chosen.
In this debut feature, Amélie Bonnin immerses us in a warm, retro-tinged feel-good film, punctuated by popular French songs that will stay with you long after the credits roll.
“A joyful film about a woman in her thirties who confronts her past in order to reinvent herself. Juliette Armanet delivers a dazzling debut performance.” – Première
