What does a building really need? In this family workshop led by Caroline Garin, founder of KidzArchitects, participants will discover Le Corbusier’s Cité Radieuse in Marseille and explore how simple shapes, straight lines, concrete, color, light, and function can transform one large building into a small city. First, explore the architect’s unique design choices: repeating apartment layouts, pilotis, open space underneath the building, built-in furniture, and a sliding kitchen panel that transforms the way a room works. Then, use some of these elements to design your own Cité Radieuse model using modular boxes, balconies, columns, and a garden.
Offered in both French and English, the workshop encourages curiosity, creativity, and language learning through design.
An accompanying adult is required to attend for the entire duration of the activity. No separate reservation is required for the accompanying adult.
