Deborah Steenhout
Deborah is from Mons, Belgium. She holds a Master’s degree in Translation and certification in teaching French as a second language. In Belgium, she was a French Instructor on a NATO base for the US contingent based in her hometown. She was also the French instructor for newly arrived children in the local Belgian school. In the US, she worked in several French afterschool programs around NYC as well as in a daycare setting, teaching little ones French through songs and visual arts. Later on, she became the primary FSL teacher in a bilingual French – English school in New Jersey and coordinated the DELF sessions for students from 8 to 14 years old. Deborah likes reading, traveling and hiking.
