Learning Materials by Level
To consult the language-learning materials available at your level, log on to the library’s online catalog and enter your level (A1, A2, B1 or B2) in the search window and choose “subject” in the pull-down index window.
Children’s Learning Materials
The Library offers a wide variety of language learning materials for children of all ages. Our selection of kids’ French learning materials including DVDs, CDs, CD-ROMS, books and more can be found with a green sticker in our kids’ section.
Many members are interested in coming to L’Alliance in order to practice speaking French. Please find below a list of activities where you can enjoy putting your hard-earned language skills to work in an enjoyable format.
L’Alliance has created a series of videos that demonstrate some ideas for using Culturethèque in the FLE classroom. These include videos on novels, kids, ados, bandes dessinées, periodiques and learning French. You may access them on the L’Alliance YouTube channel
A collection of titles for teachers of French is available in the Alexandre and Jacques Centre d’Autoapprentissage. These titles provide theoretical material for professional development and hands-on information to help in the preparing of classes. Subjects range from linguistics, history of the French language, francophony, intercultural issues, the European Framework, teaching to children, and more!
