This summer, our campers will embark on a vibrant journey of creativity, culture, and language at the Montclair Campus of L’Alliance New York. Over nine weeks, children will explore music, painting, sculpture, acting, fashion, writing, illustration, dance, and culinary arts, all while learning or perfecting their French naturally through interactive, hands-on experiences.
Children enrolled in our kids’ camps (Grades K–5 / Ages 5–11) also have the opportunity to explore these themes through local field trips, providing a rich and inspiring environment for an artistic and cultural adventure full of discoveries and lasting memories!
You can register for camps on a weekly basis, choosing the number of weeks and the schedule that works best for your family.

Week 1: Our Little Artist Musicians!| June 22 – June 26
During this week, toddlers dive into the magical world of music! They will explore sounds and rhythms using shakers, drums, bells, and other instruments, and move their bodies to music through guided dances, clapping games, and simple rhythm activities. Children will also create and decorate their own instruments, discovering how fun it is to make music together. Throughout the week, they practice French through songs, musical games, and playful interaction, learning words for instruments, rhythms, and movements. Toddlers will also be introduced to French music across genres, from classical melodies to cheerful songs by timeless and contemporary artists. Every activity is designed so that all children can participate, enjoy, and use French naturally.
Week 2: Our Little Artist Painters! | June 19 – July 3
During this week, toddlers become tiny painters! They will explore colors, shapes, and textures with brushes, sponges, rollers, droppers, and even their fingers, painting on paper, cardboard, and other safe surfaces. Children will mix primary colors to discover how to make purple, orange and green! Children will create their own artworks mimicking famous painters for parents to enjoy master-pieces à la maniere de as well as contribute to group Land Art projects promoting nature awareness and experimenting with natural elements both indoors and outdoors. Throughout the week, toddlers practice French by naming colors, shapes, and materials, and talking about their paintings in simple, playful ways. They will also be introduced to famous French painters, discovering how artists like Claude Monet and Henri Rousseau use imagination and color to tell stories through art.
Week 3: Our Little Artist Sculptors! | July 6 – July 10
During this week, toddlers explore the joy of sculpture! Using soft clay, play dough, putty or recycled materials such as cardboard, papier-mâché, and safe found objects, children will create small three-dimensional artworks. They will stack, shape, and decorate their sculptures with paint, beads, glitter as well as drawn or carved patterns, and work together on group projects to share with friends. Throughout the week, toddlers practice French by talking about shapes, sensory materials, animals, and colors. They will also take part in a mini gallery project, featuring animals in their natural habitat, arranging and displaying their creations so everyone can enjoy the artwork, while being gently introduced to the world of famous French sculptors and how artists use materials to bring their imagination to life.
Week 4: Our Little Artist Actors! | July 13 – July 17
During this week, toddlers enter the world of theater and imaginative play! They will create puppets, simple props, and costumes, dress up and invent playful scenes together. Children will act out dramatic emotions, silly or daily actions and use simple French words for body parts and movements, feelings, and everyday activities. They will reenact their favorite fairy tale or dress up as their favorite character or superhero. They will also memorize short monologs, sing songs, and participate in mini performances. Toddlers will learn basic vocabulary about the theater and storytelling, discovering how gestures, expressions, and movement can bring a story to life. Every activity is designed so all children can participate and enjoy creative play while learning French.
Week 5: Our Little Artist Fashion Designers! | July 20 – July 24
During this week, toddlers become little designers! They will use all sorts of fabric as well as felt, paper, and cardboard to create colorful outfits, hats, and fun accessories. Children can decorate action figures or dolls, make miniature clothes, and assemble playful lookbooks or a mini fashion magazine to show their creations. They will practice French while naming colors, patterned designs, fabrics, and clothing items, sharing what they like to wear depending on the weather or the season. Toddlers will also discover famous and modern French designers as well as learn how imagination, nature and legends can inspire fashion. The week ends with a mini fashion parade, where children proudly present their creations to their friends.
During this week, toddlers explore the joy of imagining and bringing to life their own stories in a hands-on, fun and age-appropriate way. They will experiment with drawing, tracing straight lines and wavy patterns as well as creating mesmerizing spirals or scribbling. They will learn all the letters of the alphabet in French as well as discovering other types of writing such as hieroglyphs and pictograms. Children will listen to wonderful French classical stories and fairy tales and dress up as characters from their favorite books. They will also create a beast abécédaire, decorating each letter with colors, textures, or patterns to illustrate 26 different animals. By the end of the week, the class will have a colorful alphabet book to enjoy together and each child will know how to spell most letters in French. Throughout the week, they will enjoy listening to French stories, memorizing short poems, experimenting with words and letters. This week will give every child the opportunity to play, create, and explore French through writing and storytelling.
Week 6: Our Little Artist Writers! | July 27 – July 31
During this week, toddlers explore the joy of writing and storytelling in a hands-on, playful way. They will experiment with drawing, scribbling, and making their own simple books and colorful bookmarks. Children can dress up as characters from their favorite books to bring stories to life. They will also create an abécédaire, decorating each letter with colors, textures, or patterns to illustrate simple French words. By the end of the week, the class will have a colorful alphabet book to enjoy together. Toddlers will also be introduced to famous French children’s books and characters. Throughout the week, they will enjoy listening to stories, memorizing short poems, experimenting with words and letters. This week will give every child the opportunity to play, create, and explore French through writing and storytelling.
Week 7: Our Little Artist Illustrators! | August 3 – August 7
During this week, toddlers explore how pictures tell stories. They will experiment with crayons, markers, pastels, and kid-friendly drawing tablets to tell a unique story where they can be the hero. Activities include tracing, guided step-by-step drawings, and creating images inspired by nature, fairy tales, or their own daily life experimenting with short stories through comic strips and picture books. Toddlers practice French while talking about colors, shapes, everyday items and simple actions. They will also discover the work of French illustrators and beloved comic characters, learning how drawings can show emotions, make us laugh, and tell a story. All activities are engaging hands-on, and accessible for every child.
Week 8: Our Little Dancers!| August 10 – August 14
During this week, toddlers explore movement in a fun and creative way! Using music and guided movement, children will try different styles of dance from around the world featuring both a diversity of rhythms and musicality as well as a wide range of genres including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and folk dances. Toddlers will discover how rhythm and gestures can tell a story, express emotions or communicate between people and time. They will play movement games like freeze dance, follow-the-leader, and rhythm storytelling, and create simple group dances. They will also learn to dance by reproducing the movements of animals and do yoga through natural elements such as wind, rain, sun or trees and flowers. Toddlers will learn French words for nature, weather, animals, and instructions, practicing following directions and describing movements. Activities are designed so every child can participate, express themselves, and enjoy music while practicing French. The week ends with a joyful, informal performance where toddlers share their dances with their friends.
Week 9: Our Little Artist Chefs! August 17 – August 21
During this week, toddlers explore the joy of cooking as well as discovering new tastes and foods in a safe environment.They will prepare simple, sweet and savory recipes such as fruit salads, mini quiches, and delicious French pastries, as well as enjoy tasting their creations with their friends and family. Children will practice French by naming different types of foods, utensils, and tableware, and using words to describe smells, tastes, and textures. They will learn how to tell their favorite fruit, vegetable and food in French while learning how to prepare them. Toddlers will also learn simple cooking instructions like stirring, pouring, and mixing, and follow fun, child-friendly recipes inspired by French chefs. Activities focus on sharing food, presenting dishes, and working together, helping toddlers build confidence, teamwork, and language skills in a deliciously playful way.
