Director Henri Verneuil, France’s preeminent helmer of hardboiled policiers in the 1970s and 80s, goes beyond his trademark formula of tense atmosphere and punchy action with this ever-relevant exposé about the tentacles of global corporate entities. This was the last Dewaere film to be released before his untimely death.
