In a near-future Rio de Janeiro, torn by social unrest and mysterious attacks, the city is isolated from the rest of the country. Marlon, a soldier on a mission, must navigate the polluted waters and favelas of Guanabara Bay in search of Kurtz, a former commander turned messianic leader of a paramilitary cult. His followers believe he is the reincarnation of Exu, a powerful Umbandista deity sent to break the endless cycle of violence and misery. Marlon’s journey plunges him into a dystopian world where faith, power, and chaos collide.
This program will be preceded by a 25-second bumper film created by École MoPA students.
