French Story Time, Book Sale & Book Exchange

Join us at L’Alliance New York’s French library—the largest private French library in the nation!—to explore our extensive book collection, participate in our book exchange and book sale, or enjoy a French story time and coloring activity.
Community Book Exchange
10am-5pm
Stop by our library to participate in our fall book exchange! Bring in one or more used French-language books—for kids or adults!—to exchange books with other patrons. Please note, books must be in good condition and not more than 10 years old.
French Book Sale
10am-5pm
Browse our extensive collection of French language materials including children’s books, contemporary novels, classic literature, non-fiction, and popular French magazines. All books are priced at $1, magazines at $0.25. Pro tip! Our kids’ books go fast, so come early for the best selection!
Please note: We recommend bringing your own tote bag to transport your new treasures! A limited number of L’Alliance New York Tote bags will also be available for purchase.
Children’s Storytime
11:30am & 1pm (30-minute sessions)
Recommended Age: 4-9
Drop in for a free family-style French story time, the first in a new year of weekly Storytimes! Held in the main reading room, each event will feature stories carefully curated for our fall back-to-school theme.
Coloring
12pm-2pm  
Recommended Age: 3+
After Storytime, coloring activities will be available to students and families throughout the library’s usual Saturday hours. L’Alliance New York’s arts and cultural programming department will provide a family guide that includes coloring pages and kid-friendly information about L’Alliance’s visual and performing arts programs.
