Geetika Agrawal is an India-born designer, and the founder and CEO of Vacation With An Artist (VAWAA) – a global platform offering mini-apprenticeships with master artists and craftspeople worldwide. From Jōmon pottery in Japan to natural textile dyeing in Mexico and shoemaking in London, Geetika believes that craft is the next frontier of wellness, essential for feeling alive and connected.
Before launching VAWAA, Geetika spent 13 years designing products and experiences for leading brands. She served as Creative Director at R/GA, designed an IRL adventure game at Disney, and taught interaction design at the School of Visual Arts. She also created “Food For Thought,” a unique traveling dinner series across 12 countries where travelers host meals for locals. Her work has received international acclaim and has been featured at SXSW as well as in renowned publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, National Geographic, Vogue, and Condé Nast Traveler. Geetika is a stubborn optimist, firmly believing in the abundance of good in the world, a belief that she instills in her work and those around her.
CreativeMornings
It all started in 2008 when Tina Roth Eisenberg invited the creative community of NYC to join her in her co-working space for coffee and breakfast, once a month. She wanted an easy way for her creative community in NYC to come together, on a regular basis. Over the past 16 years, CreativeMornings has organically grown into the world’s largest face-to-face creative community, gathering creatives in over 200+ cities and 67 countries every month. Many describe CreativeMornings events as a wave of heart-forward optimism that is so moving, you can’t help but participate.
But most of all, CreativeMornings is a celebration of an unwavering belief in each other’s potential. Every month, 1,000 volunteers bring 20k+ creative types together for free breakfast and a talk. More over on the CreativeMornings about page.
