Bastille Day Garden Party in Montclair, New Jersey

Celebrate France’s fête nationale — commemorating the storming of the Bastille and the birth of the modern French nation — with a fun and festive garden party hosted by L’Alliance New York in Montclair on Saturday, July 13 at the beautiful Van Vleck House & Gardens.

Gourmet Feast

Local owner/Pastry Chef Jayce Baudry will oversee this year’s gourmet buffet campagnard with the participation of other French staples of the Montclair food scene: Faubourg Restaurant’s Chef Olivier Muller and owner Chef Boulanger Arben Gassi (Le French Dad Boulangerie).

The buffet will feature a selection of amuse-bouches, pâtés, and charcuterie from New York Épicerie Boulud, gourmet summer salads and spreads, artisanal bread, and cheese, as well as miniature versions of classic French sweets, cookies, and desserts.

A selection of wonderful Bordeaux wine will be provided by Crus Bourgeois du Médoc.

Music & Dance

Adrien Chevalier Gypsy Jazz Band

For the past 15 years, Adrien has led many Gypsy Jazz concerts internationally, collaborating with the scene’s most renowned players.

Adrien grew up listening to the Hot Club du Quintet de France and learned to improvise in Parisian Cafés, jamming all night with local musicians. After one year at the CMDL (Centre Musical Didier Lockwood), he perfected his jazz technique, moved to NYC, and established himself as a leading style figure.
