Board Chair

Amandine Freidheim

Amandine Freidheim serves as the Board Chair for L’Alliance New York. A French native and New York resident, Amandine brings an extraordinary track record of impact at the intersection of education, philanthropy and the arts. As a champion of equitable access to learning, Amandine has advanced opportunities for underserved communities with hands-on work and through the Stephen and Amandine Freidheim Foundation. Her leadership has been instrumental in the foundation’s educational initiatives, which have empowered thousands of young people across New York City and beyond.

Amandine’s career began in the international art world, with formative roles at Christie’s Paris and leading contemporary galleries, before founding her own company, Amandine Lesaffre Fine Art. She is a graduate of ESSEC Business School’s Global BBA program and holds a Master's Degree in Art Market Studies from IESA Paris. For a decade, she was an art history teacher at Incarnation school in Washington Heights and a catechism instructor for the French and American Catholic communities in New York. She served on the Board of The Partnership Schools.

Her expertise in cultural programming and her passion for connecting communities through art have shaped her approach to leadership at L’Alliance New York. Under Amandine’s leadership, L’Alliance New York will continue to modernize its offerings—including innovations in French language education, dynamic arts programming, and new digital initiatives—ensuring that the institution remains a vibrant beacon for francophone culture in New York and around the world. Amandine lives in New York City with her husband, Steve, and their three children.
